Governor Phil Murphy
Were you as astonished as I was when our Governor made this statement? Phil Murphy took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and then stated, on television, that the Bill of Rights was “above his pay grade”.
During the COVID-19 crisis we saw what he meant…
Small businesses were crushed while large businesses such as Amazon, Walmart, Lowe’s and Home Depot were permitted to remain open. Similarly, churches were closed but liquor stores remained open.
It was difficult to get medical or dental care but Planned Parenthood remained open.
Despite the fact that Cape May County prepared a detailed plan for reopening and had one of the lowest incidents of Covid in the state the Governor refused to reopen our local businesses.
All over the country, democrat cities in democrat states are in turmoil. Meanwhile, in Cape May County we have a safe environment due to dedicated law-enforcement officers. Here we strive for fairness and equality for ALL members of our community.
Last year, we elected Antwan McClellan, the first African-American Assemblyman in the history of Cape May County in a record sweep. That victory brought us the Senate seat held by Senator Michael Testa, Jr. and the Assembly seats taken by Antwan and Erik Simonsen.
If we are going to successfully continue our fight to “Flip the State”, my friends, we need to elect our candidates this year. In light of the recent executive orders you will be receiving a vote by mail ballot for the primary. Please complete it according to the instructions and return it promptly.
We urge you to vote for the entire Republican ticket, starting with Congressman Jeff Van Drew and vote from the top down to guarantee continued responsible, responsive and concerned leadership.
While Democrats want to empty our jails, disband our police forces and disarm the public, your Republican candidates stand for public safety, fiscal responsibility and the preservation of your constitutional rights.
It is imperative that you complete the mail-in ballot that you receive in accordance with the instructions and return it ASAP in order to guarantee your vote is counted.
Please tell your friends to do likewise. We are in a fight for the stability of our state.
As always, I thank you for doing your part and for your continued support.
God bless you and God bless America
The GOP, “Grand Old Party,” first took roots in 1854 with a small group of dedicated abolitionists gathered to fight against the expansion of slavery and in hopes of starting a Party dedicated to freedom and equal opportunity.
